Abstract:Meyerson nevi occur whenever a rare focal and transitory eczematous eruption arises around melanocytic lesions. The same phenomenon has also been observed in non-melanocytic lesions as well. Herein we report the case of a 25 year old, male patient, who had noticed, two months before, the arising of a pruriginous and erithematous halo around two nevi localized on his abdomen. The lesions were found to be atypical on dermoscopic examination and he was submitted to surgical excision of both nevi. Histopathological examination revealed displastic compound melanocytic nevi, surrounded by intraepidermical vesicles and spongiosis. Present report suggests that Meyerson phenomenon does not seem to alter dermoscopic features of nevi. Keywords: Dermoscopy; Nevus; Nevus, pigmented Resumo: O nevo de Meyerson ocorre quando uma rara erupção eczematosa focal e transitória surge ao redor de lesões melanocíticas. O mesmo fenômeno também foi observado em lesões não melanocíticas. O caso relatado é o de um doente masculino, 25 anos, que há dois meses notara surgimento de eritema e prurido, circundando dois nevos, localizados no abdome. As lesões eram atípicas à dermatoscopia e procedeu-se à excisão cirúrgi-ca dos dois nevos. O exame histopatológico revelou nevos melanocíticos compostos displásicos, envolvidos por espongiose e vesículas intraepidérmicas. O presente relato sugere que o fenômeno de Meyerson não modifica as características dermatoscópicas dos nevos.

ÖzetAmaç. Seboreik keratoz daha çok yaşlılarda görülen benign karakterli epidermal bir tümördür. Akantotik, hiperkeratotik, irrite, retiküler, klonal tip ve melanoakantoma olmak üzere 6 farklı histopatolojik alt tipi vardır. Dermatoskopi (epiluminans mikroskopi) pigmente deri lezyonlarının çıplak göz ile görülemeyen klinik morfolojik özelliklerini gösteren in vivo, non-invaziv bir tekniktir. Bu çalışmadaki amacımız seboreik keratozun dermatoskopik özelliklerinin, histopatolojik alt grupları ile korelasyonu olup olmadığını saptamaktı. Yöntem. Çalışmaya alınan 53 hastanın toplam 80 adet SK lezyonu alındı. Dermatoskopik bulgular tanımlandı. 77 lezyondan insizyonel biyopsi alınırken üç lezyona total rezeksiyon yapıldı ve histopatolojik alt tipler velirlendi. Bulgular. SK alt tipleri; komedon benzeri açıklıklar, mila benzeri kistler, fissür, polimorf damar, ekzofitik papiller, dot/globül ve mavi beyaz yapı açısından değerlendirildiklerinde istatiksel olarak aralarındaki fark önemsiz bulunmuştur (p>0,05). Alt tiplerde sosis parmak hiperkeratotik tip ve irrite tip SK'da, milia-bulut irrite tip SK en fazla gözlenirken (p<0,05), psödostreaks ve psödoretiküler patern en çok retiküler tip SK'da saptanmıştır (p<0,05). Sonuç. Dermatoskopi, seboreik keratoz olgularında histopatolojik alt tiplerin belirlenebilmesine yardımcı bir tanı aracı olarak kullanılabilir.

Abstract:Over the last few years, dermoscopy has been shown to be an effective diagnostic tool in assisting the noninvasive diagnosis not only of skin tumors but also of various general dermatological disorders. The use of dermoscopy has offered a new morphological dimension supporting the diagnosis and clinical follow-up of several dermatological conditions. Within the last years, dermoscopy is gaining ground in general dermatology as well. Among the large spectrum of skin infections, specific dermoscopic patterns have been described for common skin infections such as viral warts, molluscum contagiosum, scabies, and pediculosis, as well as for tinea nigra, tungiasis, and cutaneous larva migrans. Also, common skin disorders such as psoriasis, pityriasis rosea or lichen planus show characteristic dermoscopic patterns. The aim of this article is to provide an overview of the use of dermoscopy in general dermatology by analyzing the dermoscopic differential diagnosis of relatively common dermatological disorders grouped according to their clinical characteristics.
