“…Dermoscopy seems to be very useful as a diagnostic adjunct for disclosing FF. One study describing dermoscopic features of FF from three patients remarked that FF showed welldemarcated areas of pallor with central follicular openings [18]. Pathologic findings of FF show epithelial strands emanating from an enlarged hair follicle together with the proliferation of fibrous sheath around epithelial strands.…”

“…The differential diagnoses of angiofibromas include multiple trichoepitheliomas, fibrofolliculomas, trichofolliculomas, trichilemmomas, syringoma, dermal melanocytic nevi, and acne vulgaris. On dermoscopy: trichoepithelioma shows multiple arborizing vessels and milia-like cysts over a whitish background;[ 4 ] fibrofolliculoma reveals well-demarcated areas of pallor with central follicular openings;[ 5 ] syringoma presents pigment network, structureless light-brown areas, and reticular vessels. [ 6 ] Clinical suspicion confirmed with dermoscopic findings can aid early detection and avoid an unnecessary biopsy.…”
