Abstract: Dermatomyositis is an idiopathic inflammatory myopathy that often presents with symmetric proximal skeletal muscle weakness and characteristic skin findings. Typical skin biopsy findings include vacuolar changes of the basal layer, increased dermal mucin, and a predominantly lymphocytic infiltrate.
