Derivative Parameters of Hyperspectral NDVI and Its Application in the Inversion of Rapeseed Leaf Area Index

Abstract: AVNDVI (Accumulative Visible Normalized Difference Vegetation Index), a new type of derivative parameters of NDVI, was set up by improving the computational formulas and importing the spectral information of visible bands after analyzing the construction idea of NDVI and its derivative parameters. Then, the characteristic values of VNDVI (Visible NDVI) were calculated by applying a combinational method of sensitive bands of visible bands. The study carried out the fitting analysis between NDVI, VNDVI, AVNDVI, … Show more

“…The index value higher than zero is considered to be water surface and lower than zero is non-water surface (McFeeters, 2013). NDVI shows the crop growth, nutrient information, chlorophyll and protein assessment (Qiu et al, 2018). The range of index value for both NDVI and NDWI lies between −1 to1.…”

“…This may accentuate the plant and non-plant (i.e., soil) through the differential within RBNDVI and thus provide the best option for delineating tree canopies and for tracking tree mortality events. Qiu et al [72] suggests the finding of the RBNDVI index being more sensitive for this application than traditional NDVI.…”

“…It is continuously obtained by imaging spectrometer for remote sensing of ground objects, including dozens or even hundreds of narrow bands [1]. At present, they have been widely used in national defense construction [2], geological exploration [3], ecological environment [4], agricultural science [5] and many other fields. As an extremely important part of hyperspectral images processing, hyperspectral images classification has always been a hot topic in domain of remote sensing [6].…”
