Abstract

Quality management has become very widespread in nursing facilities: every third institution claims to have been certified, and the trend to become certified has clearly intensified over the last few years. We observe overall very great acceptance of both internal quality management and external quality assurance. We suspect that the current use of quality management instruments in many nursing facilities will not fall behind such efforts in hospitals and rehabilitation centres.
