Abstract:Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is a ubiquitous commodity plastic used in applications that include textiles, food packaging, drink bottles, and thermoplastic resins. Like other synthetic polymers, the massive accumulation of PET on Earth's surface has presented formidable environmental challenges.
