Due to the explosive population growth, the demand of adequate hygiene drinkable water has been increased. Therefore, it has become more necessary to apply the automatic control system for water treatment production, in order to attain the health required outcomes. According to complexities of the process and the intersection of the treatment states, the suggested methodology in this chapter anticipates for the development of an automatic control based on wireless sensing networks (WSNs) to be applied in water treatment process. The wireless automatic systems are deployed in order to manage the processes of the production and increase the efficiency to the maximum level, along with the minimum cost. It is, therefore, important that the automated system works professionally, in order to get the utmost profit from the processes of the production. Practically, an effective control models have been designed and implemented using simulation software. Therefore, the research successfully managed to automatically control in the working pumps operation. The addition of purification and disinfection chemicals doses successfully calculated and added to the water in a real-time operation mode. In filtration phase, the process of filters backwashing has been completely automated. The obtained results were essential, beneficial and prove the system's applicability with minimum cost.

Nowadays Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) being applied in many different civilian applications like vehicle tracking, habitat monitoring, forest surveillance, earthquake observation, biomedical or health care requests and building surveillance. To a large extent the efficiency of WSNs depends on the coverage provided by the deployment scheme. Different deployment demands and optimization goals are required in different environment. This study keep focus on coverage, connectivity and energy efficiency which have great impact on the performance of WSNs. Node deployment is a fundamental problem to be solved in WSNs. An appropriate node deployment scheme can reduce the issues in WSNs. Further it can extend the lifetime of WSNs by minimizing energy consumption. This paper investigated some deployment schemes, analysed and identifying their requirement.

Abstract:Objective of this work is to analyse various mote parameters, under different deployment and antenna positioning scenarios. The nodes were deployed and tested for its communication and sensing on the surface, under the ground and also in a hybrid environment. The results suggest that communication medium (underground and over-the-surface deployment) and the mote's antenna positioning, have considerable implications on received signal strength (RSS), packet delivery ratio (PDR) and signal attenuation. This research work has analysed the effect of transmission signal strength, packet loss and RSS, at different deployment and antenna positioning scenarios, taking into consideration, the power supply and other environmental parameters. The feasibility of implementing a wireless under-ground sensor network (WUSN) for agricultural monitoring is also studied.
