Density, Speed of Sound, and Dynamic Viscosity of 1-Butyl-3-methylimidazolium Bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide/1-Butyl-3-methylimidazolium Hexafluorophosphate and N-Methylaniline Binary Systems from T = 298.15 to 323.15 K at 0.1 MPa

Abstract: Density, speed of sound, and viscosity values were measured for different binary mixture concentrations of 1-butyl-3methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide ([Bmim][NTf 2 ]) + N-methylaniline (NMA) and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([Bmim][Pf 6 ]) + NMA systems at temperatures from T = 298.15 to 323.15 K under atmospheric pressure. The excess values of molar volume, molar isentropic compressibility, intermolecular free length, and viscosity were calculated. The partial molar volume… Show more

“…There are a number of literatures describing the physicochemical aspects of various ILs suited for diverse research domains. [42][43][44][45][46] As far as the detailed understanding of the physicochemical properties of ILs used as the diluent in conjunction with different extractants used for the reprocessing of SNFs is concerned, there are interesting reports those mainly deal with the understanding of different physicochemical properties of the most extensively used imidazolium based ionic liquid: 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide ([C 4 mim][NTf 2 ]) containing a different class of nuclear extractants (extractants used for the separation of actinides and fission products). [47][48][49][50][51][52] Since the research in this direction is at its growing stage and is certainly an interesting research field, the accumulation of all the published results on various physicochemical properties of aforementioned solvent systems indeed would bring out the overall knowledge of an IL solvent for SNF reprocessing application.…”

“…From an academic perspective, demonstrating the physicochemical properties of the ILs present some knowledge about the behavior, interface specification, and intermolecular interaction between ILs and solvent mixtures. Furthermore, the absorption performance of gasses in ILs is determined from the molar volumes and compressibility values calculated from density 9,10 …”
