Densities, Viscosities, Heat Capacities, and Vapor–Liquid Equilibria of Ammonia + Sodium Thiocyanate Solutions at Several Temperatures

Abstract: Several thermophysical properties were experimentally measured for the ammonia + sodium thiocyanate mixtures at several temperatures: density from (269.4 to 350.9) K, dynamic viscosity from (269.8 to 369.5) K, and isobaric heat capacity from (304.17 to 364.15) K, all them at a constant pressure of 3 MPa, and vapor–liquid equilibria from (253.1 to 393.1) K. All properties were measured in a range of composition from 0.35 to 0.90 in ammonia mass fraction. The experimental techniques used were a vibrating-tube de… Show more

“…The rheological behaviour of a PCM is important in the design and simulation of a TES system because it is not constant with temperature. Empirical equations are used in chemical engineering and other scientific and engineering fields [9] [10] [11] for the estimation of properties of chemicals and are applied in simulations and other design steps of a system [12].…”

“…The estimation of properties with empirical equations is used in chemical engineering. These are material and time saving tool to know in advance the material behaviour with no need of experimental tests [13][14][15]. However, the TES community does not use this tool widely.…”
