Densities and Viscosities for Binary Liquid Mixtures of n-Undecane + 1-Propanol, + 1-Butanol, + 1-Pentanol, and + 1-Hexanol from 283.15 to 363.15 K at 0.1 MPa

Abstract: This paper presents densities and viscosities of binary mixtures of n-undecane with 1-propanol, 1-butanol, 1-pentanol, and 1-hexanol from 283.15 to 363.15 K at 0.1 MPa over the entire composition range. Densities come from a vibrating tube densimeter, while viscosities are from a pellet microviscometer. A three-body McAllister equation correlates the kinematic viscosities together with an equation based upon a quadratic mixing rule for the Gibbs energy of activation. The excess molar volumes and viscosity devi… Show more

“…The measured densities and viscosities for binary systems of nundecane (1) + n-butanol (2) and the excess molar volumes of n-undecane (1) + methyl decanoate (2) in this work have been compared with the data in previous work. 35,38 As shown in Figures S1−S3, the values are basically consistent, and the corresponding extreme point position is also the same. The results indicate that the experimental values agree well with the literature data.…”

“…Table 1 summarizes, to the best of our knowledge, the experimental measurements 2836 of the viscosity of n -undecane reported in the literature. The measurements of Assael and Papadaki, 31 extended up to 60 MPa pressure, were performed in a vibrating-wire instrument backed by a full theoretical model, with an uncertainty of 0.5%.…”

“…These measurements were also considered part of the primary dataset. Finally, the measurements of Iglesias-Silva et al, 28 performed in a rolling-ball viscometer with an uncertainty of 0.5%, were considered as primary data. The rest of the measurements were considered as secondary data.…”

“…In this section, we report data of densities, ρ,at p= 0. The experimental values are given in Table 2 and they are compared with the literature [23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30]. Due to the high number of references for methanol and ethanol, we have chosen for them recommended data from REFPROP (version 9.0) [25].…”
