Conjugated asymmetric donor-substituted 1,3,5-triazines (ADTs) have been synthesized by nucleophilic substitution of organolithium catalyzed by [Pd(PPh(3))(4)]. Theoretical and experimental investigations show that ADTs possess high solubility and thermostability, high fluorescent quantum yield (35%), low HOMO (-6.0 eV) and LUMO (-2.8 eV), and high triplet energy (E(T), 3.0 eV) according to the different substitution pattern of triazine. The application as host materials for blue PHOLEDs yielded a maximum current efficiency of 20.9 cd A(-1), a maximum external quantum efficiency of 9.8%, and a brightness of 9671 cd m(-2) at 5.4 V, making ADTs good candidates for optoelectronic devices.

This article described the synthesis of triazine-based dendrimers with poly(ethylene glycol) core by convergent method. Compound 1 was prepared by coupling of amino group of diethanolamine with cyanuric chloride in dry THF (tetrahydrofuran). Reaction of compound 1 with p-aminobenzylamine resulted in compound 2. Compound 4 was synthesized using coupling reaction of amino group of compound 2 with cyanuric chloride, then coupling of amine groups of p-aminobenzylamine with compound 3 in the hybrid solvents. The final dendrimer (den-OH) were synthesized using reaction of dendron 4 with compound 5. Ethylene diaminetetraacetic acid modified final dendrimer were successfully prepared via coupling ethylene diaminetetraacetic acid dianhydride and den-OH. The growth of dendrons and their structures were investigated by using usual spectroscopy methods and elemental analysis. The chelating behavior and sorption capacities of triazine dendrimers were determined in relation to pH dependency for some metal ions such as Cu þ2 , Ni þ2 , and Zn þ2 using atomic absorption methods.

A divergent route towards single-chemical entity triazine dendrimers with opportunities for structural diversity

This manuscript describes the successful synthesis and characterization of five generations of dendrimers based on melamine. Early generations of these materials appear to be single chemical entities: upon purification, no detectable impurities are observed using NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and HPLC and GPC analysis. The analysis of larger generation materials precludes an unambiguous statement of purity. The synthetic route to these targets is divergent, relying on dichlorotriazine monomers that react with a polyamine dendrimer core of generation n to produce a poly(monochlorotriazine) dendrimer of generation n + 1. Subsequently, the poly (monochlorotriazine) is derivatized through nucleophilic aromatic substitution before additional nucleophilic amines are unmasked and the process iterated.
