Curriculum planning is an important but complex and challenging decision-making problem at universities. There is a growing interest in curriculum planning problem. However, the body of research on curriculum planning process using analytical methods is still small. Additionally, prior research focused on planning of an individual curriculum or making study plan for students. Curriculum planning at the program level is an under-researched topic. A robust model has not been constructed to address curriculum selection and credit allocation problems simultaneously. To help educational leaders make the most appropriate curriculum plan corresponding to their goals with the highest level of utility achieved, this study presents a new decision support framework with integrated approach. In the proposed framework, based on the competency weights derived from the analytical hierarchy process method, the importance of each potential curriculum is evaluated using the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method. An exploratory estimation is made to calculate the contribution values of competency development by each curriculum taught at different levels. Finally, multichoice goal programming with utility function determines the curriculum to be provided and corresponding credits to minimize the aggregate deviations from predefined goals with multiple aspirations. An application to curriculum planning of an undergraduate supply chain management program is presented to validate the flexibility and practicality of the proposed approach. The implications of the study are not restricted to curriculum planning of supply chain management program.

Multiple Intelligence Informed Resources for Addressing Sustainable Development Goals in Management Engineering

The competence-based model focuses on acquiring skills and abilities, yet each student’s individual circumstances condition the way in which they learn, develop, and implement them. Accordingly, there is a growing interest in defining learning activities that consider the diverse range of intelligences, abilities, and prevailing mindsets in each individual in order to promote inclusive education and sustainable development. This article seeks to design a methodology for the teaching–learning resources associated with the nature of the prevailing intelligence in the competence-based model. Thus, the “competence-intelligence-resource triangle” was proposed for promoting inclusive education in the degree in Management Engineering at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). A total of 99 teaching–learning resources, 11 competences, and 9 types of intelligence were combined. As far as the multiple intelligence approach is concerned, the 50 students surveyed prioritized logical–mathematical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, linguistic, and spatial intelligences. As a conclusion, the use of teaching–learning resources designed for promoting different types of intelligence in the competence-based model constitutes an adaptive strategy for the students to successfully acquire competences.

The evaluation of undergraduate teaching levels by the Ministry of Education has greatly promoted the construction of software and hardware in universities. After the evaluation, it will be a long-term task to build a long-term decision-making mechanism to guarantee the continuous improvement of teaching quality. As an important part of university education, physical education (PE) has always played an irreplaceable role in improving current students’ physical quality and cultivating their awareness of lifelong physical exercise. How to establish and improve the quality evaluation information system of PE to guarantee the quality of PE is not only related to the awareness of physical education workers about their own teaching work but also to the effective means to regulate the quality monitoring of PE. An effective PE quality evaluation system depends not only on the teaching management department but also on the evaluation of teaching by students and teachers themselves. Only in this way can PE classroom teaching quality be comprehensively and truly reflected. The evaluation of PE quality in higher education is often considered as a multiattribute group decision-making (MAGDM) problem. In this article, the EDAS model is extended to the single-valued neutrosophic sets (SVNSs) setting to deal with MAGDM and the computational steps, for all designs are listed. Finally, the PE quality evaluation is given to prove the SVNN-EDAS model and some good comparative analysis is done to demonstrate the advantages of SVNN-EDAS. It is shown that the SVNN-EDAS method emphasizes the expectation value of the SVNN average alternative. Compared with different methods mentioned, the SVNN-EDAS method is more practical and efficient because the calculation steps are simpler and easier to apply in practice.
