The aim of this paper is to provide an updated survey of the ‘‘state of the\ud art’’ in environmental policies, with a particular focus on those policies fostering the\ud generation, diffusion and exploitation of technologies improving environmental\ud performances, i.e. eco-innovations. In particular, we provide a critical appraisal of\ud the existing policy schemes, by emphasizing how the demarcation between environmental\ud and technology policies gets more and more blurred. The case for a\ud systemic approach to the implementation of policy measures is finally discussed.\ud Econometric evidence about the importance of environmental policies is also provided\ud in the ‘‘Appendix’’

Eco-Efficiency of Government Policy and Exports in the Bioenergy Technology Market

This study investigates how the eco-efficiency of government policy-continuously implementing innovation-friendly policy based on both environmental and economic considerations-affects the export performance of bioenergy technologies, using panel data from 16 countries during 1995-2012. Various heterogeneous panel framework tests are conducted. Our panel unit root and co-integration tests, which allow for cross-sectional dependence in the panel, show that the time series data on the eco-efficiency of public support, exports, and gross domestic product (GDP) are integrated and co-integrated. We set up a panel vector error correction model (VECM) to empirically test the casual relationship among the variables examined. The long-term parameters of the variables were calculated using dynamic ordinary lease squares (DOLS). Panel difference generalized method of moments (GMM) estimations were conducted to test the short-term relationship among the variables. The results of this study therefore show that the eco-efficiency of government policy positively influences export performance in the long run, but not in the short run. The presented findings also indicate that efficiently implemented government policy plays a crucial role in achieving environmentally sound and sustainable development, showing path dependence among the eco-efficiency of government policy, exports, and GDP. We finally suggest policy implications based on the results.

Abstract-The purpose of the review is to have a perception of Demand Pull (DP) strategies to extend essential capabilities in manufacturing industries and to analyze the experiences of the developed and developing economies. The study reveals that the encouraging DP strategies enhance the key skills in the framework of a company. Furthermore, it emphasizes that the DP strategies makes significant impacts on the sustainable development of a manufacturing industry. The significance of demand pull policies in manufacturing companies in less developed economies has not been much reported. A model can be developed by the achievement levels of industries, which will help in attaining core principles and priorities. The paper elaborates the linkages between technological capabilities and demand, so as to meet the customer's needs in time. It explores the compliance of products as per government regulations and how the companies manage the demand pull when the government stringently implements its policies. Various papers and relevant articles have been studied and reviewed from different journals and linked with criterion related to demand pull for sustainable development in manufacturing enterprises.
