IntroductionAs work hour limits change and time for formal education in residency decreases, primary care residencies struggle to fit essential subspecialty instruction into limited didactic time. Despite the high frequency of skin-related complaints in pediatrics, dermatology remains a significant knowledge gap for pediatricians. [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11] Online learning tools can provide educational opportunities unrestricted by time or location.Online spaced education (SE) has been shown to be an effective and acceptable method for addressing knowledge and practice gaps in medical education.12-17 The SE approach is based on the spacing effect-the principle that exposure to concepts distributed and repeated over time improves learning.18 Online SE with questions uses both the spacing effect and the testing effect (the principle that testing improves knowledge retention while evaluating a learner's performance). In urology studies, Kerfoot et al 16 demonstrated knowledge gains that persist for up to 2 years. The method's promising results as an instruction tool have led to the increasing use of SE in medical education. Kerfoot and colleagues measured the efficacy of SE with improved scores on repeated administration of the same questions. 13,14,16,17 We sought to assess the generalizability of SE across different domains by creating an innovative SE program with clinical images of 4 common skin conditions. Our hypothesis was that SE would be an acceptable learning method and would significantly improve pediatrics residents' knowledge of pediatric dermatology when knowledge gain and application were assessed with an outcome measure different from the intervention (unique and isomorphic questions). Methods DesignParticipating residents were randomized into 2 groups (groups A and B) and exposed to 2 different courses. Group The authors would like to thank B. The three year study has objective to demonstrate the number of pediatric patients up to 15 years of age examined and treated in Department of dermatovenereology, and the distribution of the most common skin diseases of the childhood. During 2011During .2012During . and 2013. there has been 10210 pediatric patients examined , with their parents or guardians giving anamnestic data. Than skin, hair and nails has been inspected with bacteriological or mycological swabs examination. The total count of patients in three years has been 85371, out of it 10210 pediatric patients examined by dermatovenereologist (11,96%). The most common diseases found were verrucae vulgares (53%), dermatitis atopica (15%), acne (8%), mollusca contagiosa (8%), dermatitis allergica (7%), scabies (4%). Distribution of dermatopediatric diseases in our region corresponds to findings in europian countries, except higher count of scabies patients. Pediatric dermatology is very sensitive field of dermatology, that requires multidisciplinary tretament with pediatricians, allergologists, pulmologists, otorhynolaryngologists, psychologists. ApstraktCilj trogodišnje studije je da pokaže broj pedijatrijskih pacijenata, do 15 godina starosti, pregledanih i lečenih u Kabinetu za dermatovenerologiju, kao i distribuciju najcescih oboljenja dečijeg uzrasta. Tokom 2011, 1012. i 2013. godine pregledano je 10210 pedijatrijskih pacijenata, sa roditeljima ili starateljima koji su pružali anamnestičke podatke. Potom su pregledani koža, dlake i nokti i uzimani uzorci za bakteriološka ili mikološka ispitivanja. Od ukupnog broja pacijenata pregledanih u Kabinetu za dermatovenerologiju -85371, pediajatrijski pacijenti čine 11,96%. Najčešća oboljenja su verrucae vulgares (53%), dermatitis atopica (15%), acne (8%), mollusca contagiosa (8%), dermatiotis allergica (7%), scabies (4%). Distribucija dermatopediatrijskih oboljenja u nasoj regiji odgovara nalazima u evropskim zemljama, izuzev povišenog broja obolelih od scabiesa. Pedijatrijska dermatologija je vrlo osetljiva oblast, koja zahteva multidisciplinarno lečnje sa pedijatrima, alergolozima, pulmolozima, otorinolaringolozima, psiholozima.Ključne reči: pedijatrija, dermatologija, akne vulagris, bradavice, pedijatrijska nega Uvod Dijagnostika i lečenje pedijatrijskih pacijenata specifična je oblast dermatologije 1 . U lečenju kožnih oboljenja dece najčešće učestvuju pedijatar i dermatolog, a neretko i alergolozi, imunolozi , otorinolaringolozi. Svetska istraživanja pokazuju da se samo 47% pedijatara rutinski bavi dermatologijom. 2 U svetu, kao i kod nas, postoji potreba za lekarima koji se bave pedijatrijskom dermatologijom.
