“…The most common hematology discoveries in toxicology investigate is reductions in RBC count, hemoglobin concentration and Hematocrite that are like our detecting in present research. A decline in hemoglobin and Hematocrite levels can reveal an anemic situation (Kumar et al, 1999). Panigrahi and Misra (1987) saw reductions in hemoglobin outturn and red blood cell count of the fish Anabas scandens treated with mercury.…”

“…Inconsistency in results was also observed with exposure of fish to pyrethroids. Both short-and long-term treatment of fenvalerate, deltamethrin and mancozeb to C. idella, H. fossilis and O. mykiss have been reported to cause a significant decline in MCH, MCV and MCHC values except 4 weeks exposure to C. idella to 5 ppb of fenvalerate where the value of MCHC increased when compared to controls (Mughal et al 1993;Shakoori et al 1996;Kumar et al 1999;Atamanalp and Yanik 2003; Table 2). Cypermethrin exposure to O. mykiss and L. rohita, respectively, exhibited a marked rise in the values of MCH and MCV (Atamanalp et al 2002;Adhikari et al 2004).…”

“…RBC count without significant differences contradicts with the findings of Oonchorynchis mykiss exposed to cypermethrin (Shakoori 1996); Cenopharyngodon idella exposed to fenvalerate and Heteropneustis fossilis exposed to deltamethrin (Kumar et al 1999). On the other hand Koundinya and Ramamurthi (1979) reported decline in RBC of Oreochromis mossombica after exposure to sumithion and sevin.…”

“…Decreased Hb concentration level in various fishes exposed to insecticides was reported, viz. Heteropneustis fossilis exposed to deltamethrin (Kumar et al 1999); Channa punctatus to malathion (Pendey et al 1981) and Anabas testudineus to metasystox (Natarajan 1981).…”
