Abstract:Background InformationTwo pore channels (TPCs) are voltage‐gated ion channel superfamily members that release Ca2+ from acidic intracellular stores and are ubiquitously present in both animals and plants. Starvation initiates multicellular development in Dictyostelium discoideum. Increased intracellular calcium levels bias Dictyostelium cells towards the stalk pathway and thus we decided to analyze the role of TPC2 in development, differentiation, and autophagy.ResultsWe showed TPC2 protein localizes in lysoso… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
