“…In contrast, we were not able to see effects of pancreatic enzyme supplementation on GLP-1 in our study. Reports on gastric emptying rate in CF are also conflicting and both increased and delayed gastric emptying have been suggested in this group of patients [28][29][30][31][32]. Together with gastric dysmobility and malnutrition often observed in these patients it is tempting to speculate on the impact of incretins in this group of patients.…”

“…It is well-known that a high fat meal can delay gastric emptying, leading to a shallower rise in plasma glucose after the TM compared to the OGTT [13]. This could be important since severely affected CF individuals have a higher rate of delayed gastric emptying [14,15] while the opposite has been reported in less affected patients [16]. Alternatively, it could be due to differential incretin secretion between the 2 conditions.…”

“…26 Gastroparesis, seen in 20 of 30 pre-transplant patients in another study, may be a significant contributing factor for reflux in patients with CF. 27 Most adults with CF, therefore, have GORD, and perhaps a broader disorder of foregut motility.…”
