Delay constrained throughput optimised joint scheduling and link adaptation scheme based on imperfect channel state information

Abstract: This study presents novel joint scheduling and link adaptation schemes (JSL) to maximise a weighted sum of throughputs of wireless links, while their possibly different minimum required throughputs and packet error rate (PER), average power and delay constraints are provisioned. Weights are assigned based on the importance and requirements of the links. Notable features of the proposed scheme in comparison with the previously presented utility based scheduling schemes are: (a) in the designed scheme a statisti… Show more

“…The presented fuzzy based joint scheduling and link adaptation scheme (FJSL) is compared to the analytical joint scheduling and link adaptation (AJSL) scheme which is presented in [27]. As evident, the obtained throughputs by FJSL are close to those of AJSL.…”

“…For discrete link adaptation, AMC modes are selected from IEEE802.11a standard. To make a comparison basis, an analytical approach is considered for joint scheduling and link adaptation which is presented in [27]. The achievable throughputs by this scheme are labeled as (AJSL).…”
