Degradation Processes in Anticorrosive Coatings for Machinery Designed for Fertiliser Application

Abstract: In agricultural practice, anticorrosion protection of steel components is utterly indispensable. It is of particular importance for machines and devices working in an environment with increased corrosion activity. The aim of the present publication is the analysis of the use of 5 types of anticorrosion protection in machines with increased corrosive stress. These are coating systems based on alkyd and acrylic resins. Anorganic anticorrosion system is represented by a coating created by hot-dip galvanising. A s… Show more

“…In this regard, the duplex system has a longer service life than both service lives of two coatings applied separately. Thus, in the duplex system, there is a mutual synergistic effect of the inorganic and organic coatings (Votava et al, 2016).…”

“…On the basis of measurement results, it can be concluded that the bigger and/or longer the heat treatment, the higher the microhardness (Table 3). Changes in mechanical properties can be caused by diffusion of ferrum from the base material to the zinc coating (Zmrzlý et al, 2005). However, the disadvantage of this process lies in lowering of the anticorrosion protection of the inorganic coating.…”

“…The ability of the anticorrosion system to withstand dynamic and static stress is one of the criteria for the quality evaluation of protective coatings. In this respect, one of the most important characteristics is the adhesion between the anchoring profile of the base material and the coating substrate (Votava et al, 2016).…”
