“…Therefore, the value determined for P12, for a landfill launched in 1989, can be considered similar to the 35-year old landfill studied by Lima et al (2017). On the other hand, the value obtained for P11 is similar to that obtained by Gu et al (2018), who obtained an absorbance value of 6.17 at 254 nm, with a BOD/COD ratio of 0.01.…”

“…analyzed presented values of HIX close to 10, this indicates that the samples presented strong humic characteristics. Gu et al (2018), who studied leachate generated in China with a BOD/COD ratio of 0.01, obtained a HIX value of 8.96. This value was lower than that observed for the leachate used in this study.…”

“…The relative aromatic compound content of the SAARB effluent was characterised by UV 254 absorbance (Gu et al, 2019a). Chromaticity was expressed by the CN (Gu et al, 2018), which was calculated as follows (1)…”

“…177 The landll leachate with a complex nature contains a wide range of recalcitrant, very hazardous, stable, and toxic compounds that untreated landll leachate using appropriate methods can enter to surface water, groundwater and soil. 99,[178][179][180] In an experiment conducted by a Li et al 181 the persistent compounds degradation of the landll leachate was performed using the BEF system with a two-chamber MFC equipped with CF anode electrode and a graphite cathode electrode with natural pyrrhotite coating. The maximum power density of 4.2 W m À3 was produced using a pyrrhotite cathode electrode more than a graphite cathode electrode.…”
