“…Moreover, the degradation kinetics of pesticide residues in wastewater could be fitted using a pseudo-first-order kinetics model by using UV irradiation ( 54 , 55 ). Cunha and Teixeira ( 54 ) reported that the pseudo-first-order reaction rate constant for azoxystrobin, difenoconazole, and imidacloprid was in the ranges of 0.128–0.249 s –1 , 0.019–0.048 s –1 , and 0.129–0.266 s –1 , respectively, in tomato rinse water by photolysis. In addition, the degradation of chlorpyrifos in water was carried out with sunlight illumination to extend the light spectrum to visible light.…”

“…The project from which this research originates from investigated the influence of initial H 2 O 2 concentrations ([H 2 O 2 ] 0 ) (x 1 ) and irradiance (x 2 ) on the performance of the UVC/H 2 O 2 system in the treatment of tomato rinse water contaminated by the three active ingredients AZO, DFZ and IMD. To this end, a solution was prepared with nominal concentrations of 3.0, 2.0 and 3.0 mg L −1 of AZO, DFZ and IMD, respectively, and sixteen laboratory experiments were carried out in a benchtop photochemical reactor, differing only in terms of system configurations [18]. These characteristics were established through the application of a sequential Doehlert design [52], a resource often applied in experimental designs.…”

“…Using experimental design techniques, more information can be collected while able to perform some less experiments. Numerous techniques exist for designing experiments, including Central Composite Designs (CCD) [15], Box-Behnken Designs (BBD) [16], Doehlert Designs [17], Full factorial designs [18], Fractional Factorial Designs [19], Mixture Designs [20], Plackett-Burman Designs [21], Taguchi Designs [22], and so on [23]. Full factorial experiments are not always feasible due to nancial, duration, or other limitations [24].…”
