Abstract:The selective biological elimination of hazardous substances from wastewater is of vital importance for production‐integrated pollution control. It provides an opportunity to degrade otherwise persistent substances from wastewater mixtures. State‐of‐the‐art industrial wastewater treatment plants cannot perform this task although the potential for an enzymatic degradation of most of these substances exists. This is due to the hydrodynamically determined mixing characteristics of the treatment plants. The aim of… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
