“…In addition to the above experiments, an effort was also made to study the oxidation of DNT in aqueous solution with hydrogen peroxide without UV irradiation. Aqueous mixtures of DNT and H202 at molar ratios of H202/DNT = 13-104 and 26-889 (20) were stirred at room temperature in the dark and under conventional indoor light, re-spectively, for 7 days. The results show that oxidation of aqueous DNT solution with H202 alone was very slow and elimination of DNT was probably never complete.…”
