“…When the literature on the subject was examined, it was observed that the doctoral dissertations in the field of values education in Turkey were similar to the results of the research and that there had been a noticeable increase in the number of doctoral dissertations since 2009 (Gündüz et al, 2017). It was understood that the most increase in master's theses occurred in 2013, and the number of theses decreased in the following years (Kurtdede-Fidan & Öner, 2018), in the Journal of Values Education most of the articles published in 2015 and the number of articles also decreased in the following years (Karagöz & Şeref, 2019), the highest number of proceedings on the subject in the International Social Studies Education Symposium were presented in 2017 (Metin & Yılmazer, 2019). When this result is evaluated, it is thought that the Ministry of National Education's emphasis on values education and the fact that the subject is directly involved in the education programs implemented since 2005 has been effective in the increase in the number of articles published.…”

Trends of Values Education Research in Turkey: A Content Analysis of Published Articles

In recent years there has been a large increase in the number of research that deal with values education in Turkey. There are several reviews to determine the trends of these studies. However, these reviews were mostly limited to theses, dissertations and proceedings, and it is necessary to review articles on values education. The data of the research conducted with the qualitative research method was gathered by document analysis. 479 articles were included in the research after duplicates and the articles published in non-refereed journals were removed. Content analysis was used to analyze the obtained data. According to the findings of the research; (a) the highest number of articles were published in 2017, (b) qualitative research methods were the most common research methods, (c) most frequently document analysis was preferred as the data collection tool, and content analysis was preferred as the analysis method, (d) data were collected from pre-service teachers the most and purposeful sampling was the most favored sampling method, (e) the sample size is mostly less than 50, (f) mostly the answer to a single research question was sought, (g) the majority of articles were written by two authors, (h) most articles were written by assistant professors as titles and by teachers of the Ministry of National Education on an institutional basis, (i) the articles mostly used domestic sources (j) the majority of the articles were written in Turkish and had not an English extended summary, (k) the most favored journal was The Journal of Values Education.

One of the reflections of technology to education is the flipped classroom model. In The Flipped Classroom model, the lecture process on a subject is delivered at home, while the application process that is related to the subject is in the class. The purpose of this study is to examine the trends in recent years via bibliometric results of articles on the use of flipped classrooms in education. For this aim, we investigated a total of 2955 publications on the flipped classroom obtained from the Web of Science database. Then, a bibliometric analysis of the publications was carried out in this study of qualitative research method. The publications have been examined in terms of some bibliometric variables and are presented descriptively. We performed a content analysis using tables and the VOSviewer program. According to the results, the most commonly used keywords in the research are the “flipped classroom learning” and “active learning”, and the publication language is generally English. The most common types of documents are papers and articles. Valencia Polytechnic University is the most contributing institution in its field of study. The most active countries in terms of the number of studies are the USA and China.

Türkiye’de ilahiyat fakülteleri, toplumun dini konulardaki ihtiyaçlarına güncel bilgi üretmesi beklenen ve üreten kurumların başında gelir. Bu bilgiyi kamuoyuna ulaştıran en önemli kitle iletişim araçlarından biri ise akademik düzeyde yayımlanan fakülte dergileridir. Bu çalışmada ülkemizde öncü İlahiyat fakültelerinden biri olan Marmara Üniversitesi İlahiyat Fakültesi’nin akademik süreli yayını olan Marmara Üniversitesi İlahiyat Fakültesi Dergisi incelenmeye tabi tutulacaktır. Çalışmanın amacı, söz konusu dergiye ilişkin bibliyometrik bir analiz yapılmasıdır. Bibliyometrik analiz, matematiksel ve istatistiksel yöntemlerle tez, kitap, dergi gibi bilimsel bilgi paylaşım araçlarının incelenmesi anlamına gelmektedir. Bu analiz sonucunda bilimsel üretim mecrası olan dergiler hakkında çeşitli veriler elde edilmektedir. Elde edilen veriler ile bu çalışmaların bilimsel verimliliği ölçülebilmektedir. İlk kez 1963 yılında yayımlanan Marmara Üniversitesi İlahiyat Fakültesi Dergisi, o zamanki ismiyle Yüksek İslam Enstitüsü Dergisi olarak bilinmekteydi. 1982 yılından beri mevcut ismiyle yayın hayatına devam etmektedir. Dergi, 2019 yılı itibariyle 56 sayıya ulaşmış ve bu sayılarda toplam 467 çalışma yayımlanmıştır. Bu çalışmaları araştırma makaleleri, araştırma notları, kitap tanıtımları ve tercümeler meydana getirmektedir. Bu çalışmaların önemli bir kısmı Marmara Üniversitesi İlahiyat Fakültesi’nin aktif ve emekli öğretim elemanları, araştırma görevlileri ile lisansüstü öğrencilerine ait olmakla birlikte Türkiye’nin ve dünyanın farklı bölgelerinden çeşitli akademisyenlerin çalışmaları da dergide yer almaktadır. Derginin yazarları ile ilgili analizi özetle şu şekildedir: Dergide yayınlanan 467 yayına katkıda bulunan toplam yazar sayısı 257’dir. Bunların 39’u kadın, 218’i erkektir. MÜİFD’de en çok makalesi yayımlananlar yaklaşık %49 oranıyla doktor ünvanlı yazarlardır. Doktor ünvanlı yazarları %21,8 oranıyla doçent ünvanlı yazarlar, %9,1 oranıyla araştırma görevlileri ve %8,6 oranıyla profesör ünvanlı yazarlar izlemektedir. Yayınlanan çalışmaların %96,8’i tek yazarlıdır. Yazar verimliliğine bakıldığında dergideki yazar dağılımı Pareto ve Price Yasalarına uymamakta ancak Lotka Yasasına uymaktadır. Çalışmaların %76,2 Marmara Üniversitesi İlahiyat Fakültesi mensupları tarafından yayınlanmıştır. Derginin çalışmalar ile ilgili analizi ise özetle şu şekildedir: Dergide en çok yayın 25 çalışma ile 2011 yılında yapılmıştır. En az yayın ise 6 çalışma ile 1999 senesinde yapılmıştır. Derginin tamamına bakıldığında, her yıl (iki sayıda) ortalama 16 civarında çalışma yayınlandığı görülmektedir. MÜİFD’de en çok araştırma makalesi (%80,9) yayınlanmıştır. Yayınların büyük çoğunluğu (%66,2) 11-30 sayfa aralığındadır. Yayınların %49,7’si Temel İslam Bilimleri; %30,4’ü Felsefe ve Din Bilimleri; %15,4 ise İslam Tarihi ve Sanatları Anabilim Dalı ile ilgilidir. Çalışmalar %91,9 oranında Türkçe yayınlanmaktadır. Diğer dillerdeki çalışmalar sayıca az olmakla birlikte Arapça ve İngilizce olarak ele alınmıştır. Aynı şekilde çalışmaların %56,7’sinde özet vardır. Çalışmalarda en sık kullanılan anahtar kelimelerin bir kısmı şunlardır: Din (dinî/dinler) 40, İslam 25, Kur’an (öğretimi) 20; hadis, felsefe ve fıkıh 17’şer, dindarlık 15, dil (dili/diller) 14, hukuk 12; Tanrı, kelam, Osmanlı (hukuku, düşüncesi) 11’er; mantık ve usul 10’ar, eğitim 9; Şia/Şii, Türk, tefsir ve şiir 8’er; ilahiyat ve din eğitimi 7’şer; İslam hukuku, akıl (akletme), edebiyat, değer, kitap, tasavvuf, medrese, metafizik, ahlak, Hıristiyan 6’şar; Kıraat, bilim, fizik, Hanefi, modernleşme ve mutezile kavramları ise 5’er defa kullanılmıştır. MÜİFD’nin tüm sayıları incelendiğinde 467 yayının 159 tanesinde kaynakça kullanıldığı, 267 tanesinde ise kaynakça kullanılmayıp, kullanılan kaynakların dipnotlar aracılığıyla verildiği görülmektedir. 41 yayında ise hiçbir kaynakça bilgisine yer verilmemiştir. 2013 yılı itibariyle kaynakça kullanımında bir gereklilik getirildiği anlaşılmaktadır. En çok başvurulan kaynakça dilleri ise sırasıyla Arapça, Türkçe ve İngilizce’dir. Çalışmaların görüntülenme sayısına bakıldığında makalelerin büyük çoğunluğunun (%85,5) 101 ile 300 kez arasında görüntülendiği, %61,8’inin de 301 ile 1000 arasında indirilme sayısına sahip olduğu görülmektedir. Dergide yayınlanan çalışmaların ortalama 2,5 atıf aldığı tespit edilmiştir. En çok atıf alan makale ise toplamda 36 atıf almıştır. Kısaca bu çalışmanın öneminden bahsedilecek olursa, Marmara Üniversitesi İlahiyat Fakültesi Dergisi’nin analizini amaçlayan bu çalışma, İlahiyat fakültesi dergilerine ilişkin yapılmış ilk bibliyometrik analiz olma özelliğini taşımaktadır. Bu bağlamda bu çalışmanın, bundan sonra yapılacak benzer çalışmalar için örnek teşkil edeceği düşünülmektedir.
