Abstract:The austenite phase of duplex stainless steels is commonly considered to undergo nearly no precipitation events upon thermal annealing, whereas the ferrite phase is invariably viewed as the transforming phase. The present paper shows that the situation will be the opposite after plastic deformation and annealing at temperatures above 900 8C. The role switching in terms of carbide precipitation may be explained on grounds of the more efficient diffusion of substitutional elements brought about by dislocations a… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
