Definition, Classification and Diagnosis of Diabetes Mellitus

Abstract: Diabetes mellitus is the collective term for heterogeneous metabolic disorders whose main finding is chronic hyperglycaemia. The cause is either a disturbed insulin secretion or various grades of insulin resistance or usually both.
