“…The concept of plant cover efficiency is applied whereby the thermal performance of plant cover for specific environmental conditions can be quantified in a simple way. In this study [68], in the energy balance of the outermost layer of the building it was shown that, since the qcond value is negligible compared to the sum of the values of shortwave radiation, longwave radiation and convective heat exchange occur in the outermost layer of the roof or façade. In this way, it is possible to accurately estimate the value of the temperature in the outer layer (T g ) by simply applying the energy balance at the outermost surface of the building envelope, without taking into account the term qcond in the energy balance when solar radiation is present.…”

“…The presence of vegetation on facades can minimize heat transfer via shading effects, the insulating properties of vegetation layers, and the prevention of wind along building surfaces. This ultimately results in a reduction in the need for cooling and heating within structures [38][39][40][41].…”

“…Landaredun fatxadak hiri-ingurunerako estrategia jasangarri baten parte izan daitezke [1]. Izan ere, landaretza hiriguneetan integratzeak hainbat ingurumen-onura ditu [2] eta honako hobekuntza hauek eragiten ditu: airearen kalitatea hobetzea [3] CO 2 xurgatuz [4] eta hauts partikulak eta metal astunak atxikiz [5]; hiriko bero-uhartearen efektua arintzea [13] eta, ondorioz, tokiko klima-baldintzetan eragitea (tenperatura eta hezetasun aldetik); hiriko zarata murriztea eta xurgatzea [6] eta biodibertsitatea handi tzea [7,8]. Aldi berean, landaretza hiri-ingurunean integratzeak eragin positiboa du gizakien osasunean, eta onurak ekonomian.…”
