change of CO 2 and particulate matter pollution in the city of Misurata, one of the important cities of Libya. The study was conducted in the city centre of Misurata, and the measurements were made once in every three days between November and February at 7 different locations selected in the city centre. As a result of the measurements made, the changes in the pollution parameters were evaluated on the basis of zones and months. As a result of the study, the cleanest areas were found to be the industrial area (B3) located in the east of the city and the zone (B4), where the Al-Swehli farm was located, while the dirtiest areas were found to be the main street (B1 and B2) in the city centre and the city centre, in general. In terms of months, the lowest CO 2 values were obtained in January, and the highest value was in February, whereas the lowest particulate matter values were obtained in January and the highest values in December.

In addition to population growth throughout the world due to migration from rural to urban areas, population density is constantly increasing in certain regions, thereby necessitating the introduction of new settlements in these regions. However, in the selection of settlement areas, no su cient preliminary examinations are conducted; consequently, various natural disasters may cause signi cant life and property losses. Herein, the most suitable settlement areas were determined using multicriteria decision analysis in Canik District, where the population is constantly increasing. Therefore, this study is aimed to incorporate a new perspective to the studies on this subject. Within the scope of the study, landslide and ood risks, which are among the most important natural disasters in the region, were primarily evaluated, and risky areas were determined. Thereafter, suitable and unsuitable areas in terms of biocomfort, which affect people's health, peace, comfort, and psychology, and which are also signi cant in terms of energy e ciency, were determined. At the last stage of the study, the most suitable settlement areas that are suitable in terms of both biocomfort and low level of landslide and ood risks were determined; the calculated proportion of such areas to the total study area is only 2.1%. Therefore, because these areas are insu cient for the establishment of new settlements, areas with low landslide and ood risks but unsuitable for biocomfort were secondarily determined; the ratio of these areas was calculated as 56.8%. The remaining areas are inconvenient for the establishment of settlements owing to the risk of landslides and oods; the ratio of these areas was calculated as 41.1%. The study is exemplary in the respect that the priority for the selection of settlement areas is speci ed, which can be applied for selecting new settlements for each region considering different criteria.

Purpose: To evaluate the demographic, epidemiological and etiological features of cases with fungal keratitis seen at a tertiary eye care center in Southern Anatolia.Materials and Methods: A retrospective review of all culture-proven fungal keratitis seen from May 2017 to May 2019 was evaluated. The demographic characteristics of the patients, epidemiological factors and etiological factors of the cases were noted.Results: The mean age of 15 cases with fungal keratitis was 46±7 years (ranging 19-77 years) with a male-to- female ratio of 4:1. The majority of the occupation of the cases were mostly agricultural workers or farmers (73%). The etiology was predominantly trauma mostly with an enviroment origin (93.3%). Fungal growth was detected in 15 eyes (38.5%) in a total of 39 microbial positive corneal cultures. Filamentous fungi were responsible for all cases, including Fusarium sp. in 8 eyes (53.3%) and Aspergillus sp. in 7 eyes (46.7%). Species of Fusarium were determined in 4 eyes, namely F. Aquaeductus, F. Chlamydosporum, F. oxysporum and F. solani; whereas species of Aspergillus were determined in 3 eyes, namely A. niger and A. flavus. Bacterial and fungal coinfection was shown in two eyes (Aspergillus sp. with Gram (+) beta hemolytic streptococcus; Fusarium sp. with Pseudomonas orzyihabitans). Conclusion: Agricultural activity and associated eye trauma were shown to be the main causes of fungal keratitis in which filamentous fungi were isolated in all cases. The identified etiological factors may be useful in the selection of early empirical treatment of fungal keratitis cases encountered in Southern Anatolia.
