Deep brain stimulation of the nucleus accumbens reduces ethanol consumption in rats

Abstract: Recent studies have shown that deep brain stimulation (DBS) of the nucleus accumbens (NAcc) has an inhibitory effect on drug-seeking behaviors including reinstatement responding for cocaine.
