Abstract: Substance use disorders (SUDs) precipitate a loss of control over substance use, thus compromising daily functioning and social behavior. Current addiction treatment relies primarily on medication. Relapses may occur after extended periods of abstinence upon exposure to substance-associated stimuli or environments.
