Dedicated system for design, analysis and optimization of AC-DC converters

Abstract: Abstract. This paper presents an originally-developed system for design and optimization of AC-DC converters dedicated in particular to operation in distributed generation systems. The proposed procedure is based on a multi-objective discrete optimization and expert knowledge of electrical engineering, especially power electronics. The required accuracy of calculations is obtained by using the database with real components, while the parameters applied in calculations are based on parameters provided by the ma… Show more

“…It seems advisable to include multi-objective optimization methods in the proposed system design procedure, which would allow optimization of system parameters in terms of efficiency, reliability, and volume or mass reduction. Such works have been undertaken [8,69,70], but due to their complexity, the issues were not conducted for systems with two stages of energy conversion.…”

“…To determine these values for given geometry of the machine, the magnetic field distribution inside of AFPM machine needs to be calculated. So far, most of published works proposed an approach that uses analytical methods to calculate this distribution for a simplified 1D model [1][2][3]. Based on these results, the optimization criteria (usually a single variable objective function) have also been minimized by using analytical methods [4].…”
