Decriminalization and Legalization

Abstract: One of the most controversial debates in criminology surrounds the decriminalization and legalization of drugs. Public policy and drug laws continue to change, based on varied theoretical arguments and the repercussions of the “war on drugs.” Evaluations of drug enforcement and policy produce mixed results as researchers evaluate the link between drugs and crime.
