Decreased fibrinolytic activity in juvenile chronic arthritis.

Abstract: The basal fibrinolytic activity in 17 children with active juvenile chronic arthritis (CA) was investigated. It was found that patients with JCA, and particularly those with the systemic form, show decreased plasma fibrinolytic activity and a marked increase in plasminogen activator inhibitor. Additionally, it was found that patients with systemic JCA, but not those with the polyarticular or pauciarticular form, have increased circulating levels of tissue-type plasminogen activator, an endothelial cell protein… Show more

“…Juvenile RA is associated with elevated plasma levels of PAI-1. 110 In addition, PA and PAI levels are affected in the joints of RA patients. Increased u-PA expression has been detected in RA synovia 111 and in creased u-PA, PAI-1, and PAI-2 levels have been de scribed in synovial fluid from RA patients 112 ; synovial cells as well as macrophages and polymorphonuclear cells (PMN) appear to contribute to this effect.…”

“…Οι Mussoni και συν. Οι Wallberg-Jonsson και συν.…”

και Wallberg και συν.…”
