Rinsland et al (2012) provide a thorough description of the approach which allows the retrieval of CCl 4 total columns from ground-based FTIR (Fourier transform infrared) solar absorption spectra. Briefly, the strong CCl 4 ν 3 band at 794 cm −1 is used, and a broad window spanning the 785-807 cm −1 spectral range is fitted, accounting for main interferences by H 2 O, CO 2 and O 3 , as well as by a dozen second-and third-order absorbers.…”
