RESUmEnObjetivo: Conocer las experiencias vividas por adolescentes diagnosticados con escoliosis idiopática. Método: Revisión integrativa de la literatura, estableciendo los límites de búsqueda en el año de publicación de los documentos. Resultados: El síntoma clínico predominante para ambos sexos es el efecto negativo de la deformidad en la percepción de la propia imagen; los estudios cuantitativos presentan una clasificación numérica para evaluar la percepción de la imagen corporal sin recoger los aspectos emocionales; la autoimagen es mejor en pacientes tratados quirúrgi-camente y peor en pacientes tratados con corsé y la disminución de la magnitud de la curva proporciona una mejor calidad de vida. Conclusión: La deformidad de columna vertebral afecta psicológicamente a los adolescentes. AbStRActObjective: To learn about the experiences of adolescents diagnosed with idiopathic scoliosis. Method: Integrative review of the literature published within a specified time frame. Results: For both sexes, the predominant clinical symptom of this condition appears to be the negative effect that the deformity exerts on perceived self-image. Quantitative studies used numerical scores to assess perceptions of body image but did not analyse emotional aspects. Patients treated surgically were found to have a better self-image than patients treated with a brace. Quality of life was improved by a reduction in the magnitude of the curve. Conclusion: Spinal deformity exerts a psychological effect on adolescent girls.

RESUMENJustificación: Durante la adolescencia y la juventud acontecen cambios psicológicos y fisiológicos que forman parte del desarrollo normal de la persona. La irrupción de la escoliosis en esta edad influye en la vivencia de la autopercepción corporal.Objetivo: Conocer cómo una deformidad corporal influye en la estabilidad emocional de las jóvenes diagnosticadas de escoliosis.Diseño: Metodología cualitativa fenomenológicas situada en la hermenéutica.Método: Se utilizó una entrevista semiestructurada y dirigida a mujeres jóvenes con escoliosis idiopática ingresadas en la unidad de raquis del Hospital Vall d´Hebron en Barcelona.Resultados: Los principales resultados señalan un compromiso emocional que afecta a las actividades de la vida diaria de las jóvenes, manifestándose, en algunas ocasiones, con sentimientos de vergüenza, tristeza, preocupación, miedo, amargura, complejo y rabia. La experiencia se vive como un duelo ante la pérdida de expectativas futuras. Conclusiones:Los sentimientos y las emociones vividas y referidas por estas pacientes comprometen su estabilidad emocional. ObjectivesScoliosis is that spine's arrangement was changed to be curved. Mostly scoliosis was found at childhood and recently rate of scoliosis is increasing. Causes of scoliosis were very various, but the patients are due to idiopathic reasons. Scoliosis was treated by conservative treatment or surgery treatment. If scoliosis is diagnosed early enough, it can be treated with conservative treatment. MethodsWe are searching PubMed by keywords and found 47 theses complied with requirements. ResultsStudies of conservative treatment of Scoliosis were active. Conservative treatments are considered before surgery treatment and there was a set guideline of conservative treatment. Also, there were several studies about effectiveness of conservative treatment and quality of life, mental stress. Studies about various kinds of conservative treatment were found as well. There were brief studies about introduction of new brace, effectiveness of several braces, and case studies. ConclusionsConservative treatment is very effective choice before surgery treatment at Scoliosis patient.
