Decoy receptor 3 (DcR3) overexpression predicts the prognosis and pN2 in pancreatic head carcinoma

Abstract: BackgroundThis study was carried out to examine decoy receptor 3 (DcR3) expression and investigate its clinical and prognostic significance in patients with pancreatic head carcinoma.MethodsTissue samples were obtained from 50 patients with pancreatic head carcinoma. DcR3 protein expression in tissues and sera was assessed by immunohistochemistry and ELISA. Correlations between DcR3 and clinicopathologic features and prognoses were analyzed statistically.ResultsSerum DcR3 levels were significantly elevated in … Show more

“…The expression of DcR3 protein was detected in various types of malignant tumors by our and other groups, especially in glioma, gastric, breast, liver and pancreatic cancer (Chen and Luo, 2008a;2008b;Chen et al, 2010;Huang et al, 2014;Wu et al, 2014;Zhou et al, 2014). DcR3 is also closely related to the occurrence, development and prognosis of various malignant tumors (Yang et al, 2010;Toda et al, 2013;Zhou et al, 2013;Wu et al, 2014;Zhou et al, 2014).…”

“…Dysregulated DcR3 expression plays an important role in tumorigenesis, metastasis and immune suppression in pancreatic head cancer [6], breast cancer [7], bladder urothelial carcinoma [8], nasopharyngeal carcinoma [9], renal carcinoma [10], glioma [11] and hepatocellular carcinoma [12, 13]. However, the contribution of DcR3 to CRC and the molecular basis for this contribution have not been fully elucidated.…”

“…DcR3 has been demonstrated to be a potential ovarian cancer biomarker in serum and may improve early diagnostics [22] . High expression is correlated to metastasis and worse overall survival in different cancer types [23][24][25] . Here, we showed that SI-NETs express DcR3 and patients with liver metastases display elevated serum concentrations compared to controls.…”
