Abstract:The participants of the 12th Latin American Congress of Surface Science and its Applications (CLACSA 12), held in Angra dos Reis from December 5 to 9, 2005, convinced that the research in the scientific and technological areas discussed during the Conference may play an important role in the development of the Latin American countries, issued the following statement: "The participants of the 12th Latin-American Congress of Surface Science and its Applications consider of extreme importance the promotion of reg… Show more
By using the reaction operator approach and the single hard scattering approximation scenario, we study the medium temperature dependence of heavy quark radiation energy loss via introducing the medium temperature into QCD running coupling a s and Debye mass m D . Our results indicate that there exist an equilibrum temperature T = 320 MeV in Au-Au collisions withe energy 130 GeV at RHIC, which is agreement with the prediction from hydrodynamic model. We also find that, in the low p t region, the color coupling effect dominates the heavy quark radiation energy loss, and the energy loss will be dominated by the Debye screening effect when the quark p t become large.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
