Decentralized prediction and reputation approach in vehicular networks

Abstract: A vehicle ad-hoc network (VANET) is an essential component of the intelligent transportation system. In VANET, vehicle-to-vehicle communication plays a significant role in providing a secure network and safe exchange of information between nodes. However, VANET is prone to critical risks, threats, and attacks due to its unique characteristics and dynamic topology. Trust is one of the most critical aspects of security. So, this concept has already proved its accuracy and efficiency in various wireless applicati… Show more

“…The emerging vehicular networks known as vehicle to everything (V2X) have been regarded as an important part of intelligent transportation systems. 2,3 Vehicular networks [4][5][6] also envision various advanced applications such as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), autonomous driving vehicles, smart industry, and so on. These diversified applications have quite differentiated requirements for high data rate (in terms of gigabits), low delay (less than 1 ms), reliability (99.999%), energy efficiency, and so on.…”

“…Additionally, some abnormal vehicles in the VEC network may provide irrelevant or erroneous information to other vehicles due to defective components or malicious intent during information sharing [ 12 ], thereby posing significant security risks to the network. Therefore, the efficient identification of unreliable vehicles in a network has become an essential research topic in VEC [ 13 ].…”
