Abstract: De interesse naar de sociaaleconomische gevolgen van lokaal bestuur is recentelijk enorm toegenomen. Hoewel hieraan al veel studies zijn gewijd, focust de literatuur zich voornamelijk op voorbeelden uit geïndustrialiseerde landen.
