The structurally characterised ethylene glycolate complex [{Os(CO) 3 } 2 (m-H){m-Os(CO) 4 }(m-OC 2 H 4 OH)] is prepared more conveniently from [Os 3 (m-H)(m-OH)(CO) 10 ] by substitution of the hydroxide with glycol 136. [Os 3 (CO) 10 (PPh 3 ) 2 ] has been found to have two isomers, a cis,trans con¢guration in addition to the normal trans,trans structure, to which the former reverts on recrystallisation 137.…”
