De Novo Aortic Regurgitation After Continuous-Flow Left Ventricular Assist Device Implantation

Abstract: Continuous-flow left ventricular assist devices (cf-LVAD) play an important role in the management of patients with advanced heart failure. De novo aortic regurgitation after cf-LVAD implantation may adversely impact device performance. We performed a systematic search of PubMed, SCOPUS, and Cochrane Library for articles reporting on the incidence and predictors of de novo aortic regurgitation among cf-LVAD recipients. Eight studies totaling 548 patients were identified in the meta-analysis. The pooled inciden… Show more

“…Факторы, способствующие развитию недостаточности клапана аорты и ее прогрессированию, -пожилой возраст, длительное время функционирования УДМЦПМ, а также женский пол [47]. Лечение заключается в трансплантации сердца, замене клапана биопротезом, закрытии заплатой или хирургической пластике клапана.…”

“…Aortic insufficiency (AI) is very common complication after continuous-flow left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implantation, and can result in increased symptoms for LVAD patients. [1][2][3] Recent advances in transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) technology has resulted in this becoming a potential therapeutic avenue for LVAD patients with AI. We report a case of TAVR implantation in a patient supported with an LVAD complicated by thrombosis.…”
