Dataset of human medial temporal lobe single neuron activity during declarative memory encoding and recognition

Abstract: We present a dataset of 1,576 single neurons recorded from the human amygdala and hippocampus in 65 sessions from 42 patients undergoing intracranial monitoring for localization of epileptic seizures. Subjects performed a recognition memory task with pictures as stimuli. Subjects were asked to identify whether they had seen a particular image the first time (‘new’) or second time (‘old’) on a 1–6 confidence scale. This comprehensive dataset includes the spike times of all neurons and their extracellular wavefo… Show more

“…in this paper is a subset of a publicly available dataset that has been published along with a paper that describes the methods in detail (Faraut et al, 2018b(Faraut et al, , 2018a. 1 Five sessions were rejected because memory accuracy was not sufficiently high (d < .5).…”

“…The recording methods and single-unit data analyses for this dataset have been described in detail before (Rutishauser et al, 2015;Faraut et al, 2018b). Briefly, the recordings analyzed here were obtained from depth electrodes implanted bilaterally within the hippocampus and amygdala (8 microwires each, 32 channels per patient in total).…”
