This study aims to investigate the key factors promoting internal control implementation effectiveness in Indonesian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). This study uses a qualitative approach by employing interviews as data collection technique. 13 informants were involved, consisting of management members of internal control unit, top management of HEI, and HEI accreditation assessor. The results reveal that to achieve effective implementation of internal control, seven key factors must be considered, including: (1) Management and foundation roles; (2) Awareness of all organization members; (3) Sufficient and competence of human resources; (4) Internal auditor attitude; (5) Organizational climate; (6) IT support; and (7) Funding support. The results of this study address research gaps related to internal control studies in the context of HEI, especially in developing countries, which according to Chalmers et al. (2019) still gets very little attention by accounting scholars.

The Integrated Governance and Compliance Risk Information System (SIGRC) is critical in helping institutions achieve their goals and deal with uncertainty. An Indonesian Government Agency (IGA) has used SIGRC for years. However, its utilization is still unknown. This research studies the impact of acceptance and utilization of SIGRC using Delone McLean and Unified Technology Acceptance and Use Technology. The conclusion is that the relationship between use and net benefits is unaffected. User intention on use, performance expectations on user intention, use on user satisfaction, and user satisfaction on the net benefit of SIGRC benefits are five factors that influence user satisfaction. While the expectation of use intention (ITU). Information quality with ITU. Quality of service with the use of ITU. Service quality with user satisfaction, system quality with ITU, and system quality with user satisfaction all have an influence but are not significant. This research is expected as a guideline for others to evaluate the effectiveness of SIGRC's performance. Structural equation modeling (SEM) is a set of statistical techniques that allows testing a model that is built between one or more endogenous variables with one or more exogenous variables, where each endogenous and exogenous variable can be in the form of latent or a construct built from several variables of manifest or indicator. There is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on covariance and variance, known as Partial Least Square (PLS), SEM-PLS is a powerful and flexible analysis method. This research discusses about the application of SEM-PLS in the field of managerial accounting system, namely the application of non-financial performance’s role that delivers the sustainability of the company's financial performance. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that partial least squares can be used to model finance business partnering, and it is known that employee performance and internal process performance contribute to achieve the firm’s financial performance.
