Innovative companies rapidly deploy hybrid cloud computing to leverage highly scalable, flexible, and secure infrastructure, services, and applications. Hybrid cloud computing accelerates modern businesses by supporting innovation and faster development and deployment of cloud-hosted services and applications. Companies leverage innovative models such as Platform as a service, infrastructure as a service, and software to achieve strategic goals and objectives. However, despite the immense benefits, cloud computing is vulnerable to multiple cybersecurity threats and attacks. Distributing services and applications in a hybrid cloud computing environment requires secured and encrypted security solutions—the complex connection between various cloud infrastructures and varied configurations sophisticate data security in a cloud computing environment. The proposed security solution leverages a hybrid of cryptography and steganography to provide robust security and privacy of data in cloud computing. The algorithms and techniques combined include Rivest Sharmir Adelman, Advanced Encryption Standard, and Least Significant Bit. The security model designed and developed using design science research methodology adds an extra layer of security by integrating data backup and recovery mechanisms and best practices.

As cloud computing has been increasingly used by businesses to address their data storage and processing needs. The private data can be stored and retrieved by the end user through remote storage using an affordable Internet connection in the cloud computing environment. The user may access the information whenever they want, from wherever. However, the data transmitted through the cloud is not always secure and data integrity and authentication may be compromised as the end user is only able to access the data through a third party. Cloud computing also enables numerous people to access information simultaneously over separate Internet connections, which might increase the risk of information loss or leakage. Several cryptographic methods like DES, 3DES, Blowfish, RSA, Diffie-Hellman have been developed to guarantee the safety and privacy of stored data. Since the business clients hesitate to adopt the cloud due to its less security. This paper suggests a method for exchanging cloud data that is both secure and efficient. The proposed method is mainly focused on higher security for the cloud computing platform by applying hybrid Modified Elliptic Curve Cryptography (MECC) method with the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). In comparison to other methods, the hybrid ECC-AES strategy takes less time to encrypt and decode data owing to its reduced key size.

A cloud computing environment provides a cost-effective way for the end user to store and access private data over remote storage using some Internet connection. The user has access to the data anywhere and at any time. However, the data over the cloud do not remain secure all the time. Since the data are accessible to the end user only by using the interference of a third party, it is prone to breach of authentication and integrity of the data. Moreover, cloud computing allows simultaneous users to access and retrieve their data online over different Internet connections, which leads to the exposure, leakage, and loss of a user’s sensitive data in different locations. Many algorithms and protocols have been developed to maintain the security and integrity of the data using cryptographic algorithms such as the Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC). This paper proposes a secure and optimized scheme for sharing data while maintaining data security and integrity over the cloud. The proposed system mainly functions by combining the ECC and the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) method to ensure authentication and data integrity. The experimental results show that the proposed approach is efficient and yields better results when compared with existing approaches.
