Data on fluoride concentration in drinking water resources in Iran: A case study of Fars province; Larestan region

Abstract: Fluoride is a natural element among minerals, geochemical sediments and natural water systems which is entered to body chain by drinking water. Groundwater is the main and the best source of drinking water in southern areas of Iran especially in the cities of Lar and Gerash (Fars province). So due to the health significance fluoride including dental and skeletal fluorosis, fertility, abortion and thyroid diseases, etc., measuring has high importance in the water resources of this region of Iran. Fluoride conce… Show more

“…All water samples were analyzed according to the Standard Methods for Examination of Water and Wastewater and using titration method permanent hardness, magnesium and calcium were measured [14] , [15] , [16] , [17] , [18] , [19] , [20] . The concentration of hydrogen ion (pH) and electrical conductivity was also analyzed with pH meter (model wtw, Esimetrwb) and turbidity meter (model Hach 50161/co 150 model P2100Hach, USA), respectively [21] , [22] , [23] , [24] , [25] , [26] , [27] , [28] . On the other hand, Values of, SO 4 2 − and Cl − were obtained using spectrophotometer technique.…”

“…30 samples were taken from the ground water wells in sterile polyethylene bottles and then transported to laboratory. Fluoride concentration of water samples were analyzed by SPADNS method at wavelength of 580 nm and measured using a Spectrophotometer (DR/5000, USA) [12] , [13] , [14] , [15] , [16] , [17] , [18] . Excel software has been used for analysis of data.…”
