Das Neutroneneinfangspektrum von Sm150

Abstract: The internal conversion electrons and the gamma-rays emitted by Samarium after neutron capture were measured by means of a betaspectrometer and a bent-crystal spectrometer at the research reactor at Garching near Munich. Lines corresponding to 50 transitions between 59 keV and t"7 MeV were found with the betaspectrometer. The measurement with the crystal spectrometer showed I1 lines between 250 keV and 740 keV. The multipolarity of a few lines was determined. A level scheme containing most of the measured line… Show more

“…According to Dr. Frederick R. Bieber, low stringency database searches using the current thirteen-locus STR analysis would be expected to lead to too many partial-profile hits to be of any practical use in the majority of investigations, because many alleles are very common in the population and would be shared by large numbers of individuals. 51 New technologies, however, may increase the utility of low stringency searches. 52 The Forensic Science Service of the United Kingdom has begun offering "familial searching" to police to aid in investigations.…”

A few well known cases in the U.K. were actually solved using leads developed through low stringency searching.…”

“…14 Previously Coulomb excitation of a level at 770±20 keV had been observed. 20 A most extensive study of Sm 150 which used results of ^-spectrometer studies of conversion electrons and bent crystal spectrometer observations on Sm 149 (w,Y)Sm 150 has been reported by Bieber et al 21 Here again, as in Sm 148 , the excitation energies from this work appear systematically higher than those from the electron data and the latter should be considered more accurate. The differences are in all cases within the estimated experimental error.…”
