Dark matter and collider signatures of the MSSM

Abstract: We explore the MSSM with 9 free parameters (p9MSSM) that have been selected as a minimum set that allows an investigation of neutralino dark matter and collider signatures while maintaining consistency with several constraints. These include measurement of the dark matter relic density from PLANCK, main properties of the discovered Higgs boson, LHC direct SUSY searches, recent evidence for a Standard Model-like BR (B s → µ + µ − ), and the measurement of δ (g − 2) µ , plus a number of other electroweak and fla… Show more

“…At the highest scales, a UV complete model may be specified [5,6,7], but may involve many poorly constrained parameters with degenerate effects on low energy observables. Restriction to a small number of postulated fields [8,9,10,11,12,13,14], reduces the parameter number, but typically without justification for choice of field content.…”

“…We assume Gaussian distributions for the constraints, with the exception of those on the Higgs sector, which are imposed through HiggsSignals and HiggsBounds, and the constraints on σ SI p from LUX [94]. The LUX constraint, which slightly improved on the limit from XENON100 [102], is included in the likelihood function following the procedure detailed in [23,93,103]. Additionally, we impose 95% C.L.…”

“…[23,36,123]. For every point in the considered parameter space a set of 10 5 events is generated at the parton level with PYTHIA8 [124], and the hadronization products are passed to the fast detector simulator DELPHES 3 [120] to reconstruct the physical objects.…”
