Abstract:The Subordinate Male Target Hypothesis (SMTH) proposes that racism is a gendered form of discrimination based on an ethnicity-by-gender interaction: compared to female ethnic minority members, male ethnic minority members are more likely to be direct targets of racist discrimination.
