“…For determination of Cd, plant samples were decomposed using the dry ashing procedure (Miholová et al 1993). The concentrations of Cd were determined by ICP-OES with axial plasma configuration (VarianVistaPro, Varian, Mulgrave, Australia).…”

“…Plant material was decomposed by modified dry ashing procedure as follows: an aliquot (~1 g) of the dried and powdered aboveground biomass was weighed to 1 mg into a borosilicate glass test-tube and decomposed in a mixture of oxidizing gases (O 2 + O 3 + NO x ) at 400°C for 10 h in Dry Mode Mineralizer Apion (Tessek, Czech Republic). The ash was dissolved in 20 ml of 1.5% HNO 3 (electronic grade purity, Analytika Ltd., Czech Republic) and kept in glass tubes until the analysis (Miholová et al 1993).…”

“…The samples were taken at 0, 1, 2, 4 and 8 months and stored in the freezer (-26°C) for analyses. pH (1:20 w/v of 0.01 mol/l CaCl 2 ) - Novozamsky et al 1993, carbon content (Sims and Haby 1971), total nitrogen (Bremner 1960), dissolved organic carbon -DOC (1:10 w/v of 0.01 mol/l CaCl 2 ) - Novozamsky et al 1993, total Cd content (Miholová et al 1993) and available content of Cd (1:10 w/v of 0.01 mol/l CaCl 2 ) -Novozamsky et al 1993 -were determined in each collection. Sequential analyses of Cd (Ure et al 1993) were determined at 0, 4 and 8 months.…”
