“…Prodigiosin, a bacterial metabolite, is a tripyrrole nitrogen ring pigment synthesized by Serratia marcescens (Williams, 1973;Kavitha et al, 2010). This red pigment is a promising drug owing to its antimicrobial and immunomodulatory activities (Lee et al, 1995;Da Silva Melo et al, 2000).
